Craig Porter is the Founder and CEO of The Renaissance Companies, he is responsible for all company Operations including marketing, construction bidding, maintenance of client relationships, and financial management.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering from Arizona State University. He has been involved with both development and construction entities his experience in both markets spans over 26 years.

Craig is a big supporter of charities and charitable organizations, and donates to Autism Research, Breast Cancer Research, Foundation for Blind Children, Xavier College Preparatory and Brophy College Preparatory institutions and donated The Renaissance Companies time and materials to the building of the New Life center, a shelter for battered women and children.

Craig was elected to the Board of Directors of the St. Joseph’s Foundation of Catholic Healthcare West, for a three year term.

Dave Tilson

Vice President

Dave has been in the construction and development industry for over 40 years starting his career as an Estimator. He also spent 10 years in property management and leasing a 300,000 SF office and industrial park. His knowledge and service in the construction industry, as well as his social and civic connections has enabled him to be able to bring multiple clients to the table and many of these clients have been repeat customers here at The Renaissance Companies. Dave served on the Board of Directors of NAIOP, as well as the Board of Directors of The Fiesta Bowl and served as chairman of the board. Dave ensures that all our projects and interactions with our clients run smoothly from start to finish. Dave enjoys spending time with his grandchildren as well as hiking and camping.

As Vice President, Greg oversees the operations of the company. He brings over 25 years of experience in the industry and has experience as a facilities manager and project manager. He has overseen an array of projects from Class-A offices to industrial e-commerce centers. Outside of work, Greg enjoys spending time with his family and hunting.

As Vice President, Mike Rohrer is responsible for overseeing our pre-construction, estimating, and technology teams. He brings over 30 years of construction experience overseeing and array of project types from high-rise condominiums to industrial manufacturing plants. Outside of work, Mike enjoys working on cars and horseback riding with his family.

Dave Porter is the CFO of The Renaissance Companies. Dave manages the accounting, financial, information systems, and risk management. Dave graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Corporate Finance. He then entered the commercial banking industry where he spent 20 years and completed his career by managing a commercial banking team. Dave is active in the community with both civic and nonprofit responsibilities. He is quite passionate with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. He has served on this board from 2000 to present participating in program and fundraising committees. Currently he is also on the board of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and the advisory board of First Scottsdale Bank.

Dave is an Arizona native, he and his wife Annie are proud parents of their two boys Joshua and Evan. The family enjoys sports and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and skiing.

Safety Manager

With over 40 years of experience Dan brings a wealth of knowledge to The Renaissance Companies. Dan was formerly the Director of the Division of Occupational Health and Safety for the State of Arizona and the Owner of Safety Advisory Services, a loss control consulting firm, in Scottsdale. Dan is a past member of the Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Committee and worked with a company for 7 years at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station as their Safety Manager.
Dan enjoys spending time with his significant other, his four children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. He likes to fish, hunt, golf, and 60’s and 70’s trucks.

Preconstruction Director

Kurt has been in the construction industry for 35 years. He manages, coordinates and delivers the preconstruction phases of a project and extensive client contacts for The Renaissance Companies and Renaissance Residential. He leads a great team of estimators who prepare and analyze cost models during the bidding period and makes sure a preliminary construction schedule has been developed for each estimate/bid. Kurt Ensure all estimates and bids are complete and reflect all that is required to build the project before handing it off to our construction team.
Kurt has a great deal of Residential experience, but takes pride in his educational, theater, museums and stadium work as well.
Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife Linda, their two children and two grandchildren. He loves the outdoors of Arizona and Colorado, hiking, biking, boating, snow skiing and traveling.

As Project Director, Tyler Elmer oversees the Facilities Construction Group. He brings over 23 years of experience in the construction industry and specializes in hospitality, restaurant, retail, and Class-A offices.

As the Director of Business Development, Kate is primarily responsible for new business development and client services at Renaissance. She has been in the construction industry for over 10 years enhancing existing relationships and developing new client relationships in all areas of construction. Kate is very involved in the industry as a member of AAED, NAIOP, and ULI. Outside of work, Kate loves spending time with her dogs, hiking and attending concerts.

As the Director of Marketing, Chelsea oversees the management of the Renaissance brand. She participates in the formulation of the marketing plan and budget each year, represents the firm at professional organizations, leads market research efforts, covers PR, creates the graphic design, and prepares monthly reports to the executive team. Outside of work Chelsea enjoys time with her dogs, horseback riding, and is an artist.
